welcome home boys

This post is such an honor for me to write. This weekend I had the opportunity to photograph one of the most amazingly heartwarming things. Two beautiful boys, Worake and Dimo coming from Africa to a new home in Oklahoma.

One of the most amazing and moving things I have done as a photographer is photograph the birth of a baby. The miracle of a new life coming into the world just gets me every time. It always brings tears, joy and hope.

This time, I got to photograph a new kind of birth. Two boys (far from being babies anymore) gifted with new life. They will now know the love and security of a forever family. They now will know what it is like to have a mom who will always be there to listen to them, to comfort them, to pray for them. And a Dad who will protect them, guide them, love them and give them strength. They now have beautiful siblings who will laugh with them, play with them and grow in Lord with them. Such a miracle, such joy and such hope.

There was a huge group of people at the airport just waiting to witness this part of their story and welcome the boys HOME to Oklahoma. Friends and family made signs to welcome them, complete with Dimo's favorite superhero Spiderman.

I'm not sure if that board had ever been checked so many times as it did that evening. ;) Checking and rechecking to see if the flight had landed. Such anticipation filled the air.

Everyone had their camera phones ready.

They're here! They have been spotted through the glass doors.

At last!!!!

There is nothing in this world quite like a big embrace from your Daddy.

Big brother hugs are pretty great too.

Instant best friends.

New brothers. Oh how this just warms my heart!

The two boys on the left and the little one are also from the same home in Ethiopia and were also adopted into Oklahoma families. It was a happy reunion.

What a beautiful group of siblings.

Together at last. Praise to the One who made this all possible.

Such a miracle. Such a joy.
