special announcement

This post has been a long time coming for me but yet it is a bittersweet one. This is big news for Imago Vita.

Ready? Here goes.

It is official, I am no longer doing any family, children or baby sessions. There, I said it. That wasn't so hard. (Please don't freak out if you already have a session booked in one of these categories. I will be finishing up those sessions that I already have on the books but will not be booking any more.)

I have been prolonging this inevitable announcement because well, I love taking photographs and I hate to turn people away. However, the time has come for me to focus only on the areas that I feel best fit who I am as an artist.

I hope that I don't need to explain to you how much I adore photographing love because if you read this little blog, I tell you all of the time. I don't think that I could survive as a photographer if I wasn't able to capture the unique love that is shared between all of the amazing couples that I photograph. It is at the core of who I am as a photographer. I LOVE capturing LOVE. It gives me hope, energy and life.

Here is a little photo of McKaila and Heston from their beautiful wedding this past Saturday.

Weddings are not my only love. I accidentally stumbled upon this deep passion for boudoir photography this year. We have been doing these very exclusive and special boudoir days about once a month. It has been nothing short of amazing. It is an absolute honor for me to capture the beauty of a woman to share with her husband. I have the rock star makeup and hair artist Loren Houk come and get the ladies all dolled up while they sip champagne and mimosas. We really get to pamper the ladies and remind them of how special and beautiful they are.

Here is a little peek at some killer shoes from our last boudoir day. When I asked my client if I could take a photo of her feet to post on the blog she replied "Sure! As long as your readers know that I am a very happily married woman!" So just FYI, these shoes and the pretty feet inside of them are taken!

So, there you have it ladies and gents! I will be making room in my business to grow the areas that I am truly passionate about. I am also intentionally making more room to enjoy my life. I will be playing with my two year old best buddy and laughing a lot with the love of my life.

Stay tuned for a special post on where you should go now if you are wanting to do a family, children or baby session.

I would love to do a boudoir session with you! i have trouble with wardrobe, so I would need some help. Our 10yr anniversary is coming up in Nov, and i would love to give this to him. i sure don't look like I did when we got married (after 4 kids), but that's why you have photoshop!! ;-) Looking forward to when you post some dates.

Ah SNAP! I loose Ashley and then you. However, I am so completely happy for you to have the opportunity to choose exactly what you want to do. What a blessing!

You wouldn't happen to have any suggestions on someone who is just as fabulous as you or Ashley???

Good for you Shannon! You deserve to do what you love, and spend more time with your loves! I think your decision is a great one, although I know you will have some bummed out clients! You go girl!

I can't believe it took you this long to finally take the leap! There is no doubt that you are a talented photographer in every area, but you are a phenomenal artist when it comes to capturing love (and boudoir sessions). I think your photography is going to go to a whole new level now that you are able to focus on that which you truly love to capture. You get to do what you do best - and we are all thrilled for what that means for you and your family. One of the best decisions you could make Shannon. I can't wait to see what all this means for you. A long overdue decision. Is it corny to say I am proud of you? Well, I am.
