shoe help
Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 7:49AM After posting that photo of those lovely leopard print heels, I have shoes on the brain. I need a good looking pair of amazingly comfortable shoes. They definitely need to be flats. My 11.5 hours on my feet last Friday gave me the gift of some really nasty blisters and aching feet. The catch is that I need to be able to squeeze my old lady inserts into them and have them still fit comfortably.
Any suggestions? My friend Jesse says that Nurtures from Dillards are really great. I was at Dillards the other day and I thought I found 3 pairs of clearance Gianni Bini flats but of course when I tried them on at home they didn't work. Ugghh.
My feet need your help!
I found these Nurtures online. They look comfy and they are on sale but the color is all wrong for me.

first let me say. I thought I would be able to were any shoe and never have a problem. Sometime last summer the balls of my feet started aching after wearing heels all day. I guess age and the abuse of wearing heels all day for the past 29 years at work is catching up with me. I went to Dillards and the saleslady suggested the Nurture brand. I wasn't impressed with some of the styles but bought a pair of toe peak heels. I have to admit they are the most comfortable shoes I own.
My newly rebellious feet have enjoyed wearing the following brands: softspot (JcPenney), LifeStride, Michelle D (Dillards), & Clarks. softspots are on sale this week and I found my Michelle D's on super clearance last week (less than $20). Happy Hunting, Shannon!
Shan, All I can personally recommend for 12 glorious hours of feet time are Nikes and my old school Reeboks, but we both know that won't exactly fit the bill in your field ;) So, you took 'em back did ya? They really didn't work or were you just having a hard time spending more than a dime on yourself? I will be holding you accountable for actually purchasing a pair of stylish yet comfy flats for your little piggies to work in-- you really do deserve it!
P.S. That color would be all wrong for most people (yuck).
P.P.S. Miss you my friend :(
Merrels are the way to go. I've seen them at Ross a lot lately for a great price.
Shannon,
Working at the hospital and being on my feet all day too, I have to say I like Clarks and Naturalizer. Kind of manly, but you can find soem cute pairs if you really look. ;)
I have horrible feet and also have giant "old lady" inserts. I love Danskos (they actually have many different lines that don't all look like clogs. If you can find a cute pair, Ariat also make really comfy shoes. When I used to ride horses, I had a pair of Ariat ridding boots and they were so comfortable it was like wearing a great pair of sneakers. Borne and Merrell are also great.
